The Great Class of 1989 35th Reunion – September 5-8, 2024

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Thursday, September 5, 2024

5:00 PM – 7:00 PM: NAPS Gathering – Latitude 38, Downtown Annapolis. All NAPSters and their guests are welcome.
6:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Class Gathering – Latitude 38. Join the NAPSters for a fun evening with the whole class.

We’ve planned a relaxed, affordable night at Latitude 38 on the city dock. Festivities start at 5:00 PM for NAPSters and their guests, with doors opening to the rest of the class at 6:30 PM. Check-in for the weekend will be available at this event.

Cost: $50 per person until July 31st.

This includes a buffet featuring crab dip, chicken skewers, charcuterie, and more. Plus, two or more drink tickets donated by generous classmates.Generous donors have covered the additional $10 per person cost for the NAPSter event, so there’s no difference in the registration prices as a result.

Important Registration Note: Please select EITHER the NAPS event or the 1989 Class Reception.The events will merge at 6:30 PM, but we need to track attendance separately given the higher cost of the NAPS event.

Friday, September 6, 2024

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Registration/Check-in – Dahlgren Hall Upper Deck. Receive your name tag and swag bag upon registration. Note: We cannot store swag bags.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Class Memorial Service – Memorial Hall or Chapel
11:15 AM – 12:15 PM: Class Meeting – Location TBD
1:50 PM – 2:50 PM: Superintendent Call with Vice Admiral Davids – Alumni Hall
4:00 PM: Formal Parade – Worden Field
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM: 1989 Reunion Party – Fluegel Alumni Center. Enjoy an evening with passed hors d’oeuvres, heavy appetizer stations, and a delightful selection of desserts. The evening features an open bar and a mocktail bar, generously sponsored by JT O’Farrell and his company, AMSG.

Cost: $110 per adult, $70 for Mids in uniform and guests under 21 – until July 31st.

Morning Activities TBD: Please help us plan and communicate events that you would like to see happen. In the past we have had a prayer breakfast, sports gatherings, fun run, etc. Also, we most likely will have a 1989 Women’s breakfast early in the morning.Please contact Karen with your ideas and plans. We will help as needed.

1:30 PM: 1989 Tailgate – ’53 Class Ring Double Decker Tent

IMPORTANT: A football ticket is required for all tailgater attendees! Click here for the gouge and to order!

Join us for a fantastic tailgate with a “Taste of the Chesapeake” menu, featuring beef, chicken, steamed shrimp, crab soup, an oyster bar, sides, and desserts. Your ticket includes beer and wine; there will be a cash bar available if you would like other options.

Cost: $130 for adults, $45 for Mids in uniform and guests under 21 – until July 31st.

3:30 PM: Football Kickoff – Beat Temple!

10:30 AM – 1:00 PM: 1989 Class Brunch – Farragut House, sponsored by AMSG and JT O’Farrell.

This private brunch is dedicated to the Class of ’89 and our guests. We will be charged $40 per person to cover a delicious buffet brunch and the labor of the Personal Quarters Culinary Specialists working beyond their normal duties. JT has generously offered to sponsor every ticket, but please only sign up if you are certain you will attend, as we will be paying for each reserved spot. You can add this to your registration once your plans are finalized. Thank you, JT and AMSG

How to Register

Registration Fees: $99 – All classmates will need to register and every registered classmate will receive one swag bag (married ’89 couples will both need to register); Non-classmate guests, spouses, etc. will not receive a swag bag. Registration fees are necessary to cover expenses outside our ticketed events. This includes name tags for classmates and guests, the memorial service, photography, honorary classmate participation, etc.

Registration deadlines:

  • Regular registration ends July 31st.
  • Late registration – August

Note: Because of the lead times, we will be ordering swag (and we have some great swag!) no later than the first week of August. We will do our best, but late registrants are not guaranteed to receive all of our swag.
